The Magic Seven

Why do I use Amazon to present these seven books?

Some people are looking for audio versions if they can find them, others want to buy used, a few prefer hardbound and there are those looking for e-books. With Amazon you have more options – letting you know what’s out there.  And, if you have time and money is tight, thrift stores are great places to buy books.

Should these be read in the order they are presented?

That would be really nice. Each one sets the stage for the next. But that isn’t the most important thing. Anyone who reads all of them will be changed forever in very positive ways.

The Greatest Miracle in the World
                    by Og Mandino

Maybe not so much for you, but for someone you know, The Greatest Miracle in the World is the most powerful self-image builder I have ever used. It has worked with people that nothing else touched.

Og Mandino remains today the most widely read inspirational and self-help author in the world. His 18 books, with total sales of more than 36 million copies sold, have appeared in 22 languages.

A Better Way to Live
                    By Og Mandino

Og Mandino is the leading inspirational author in the world. But once, he was a thirty-five year old derelict who spend his last few dollars on a suicide gun. Now, for the first time ever, he describes the joyously redemptive process that turned a down-and-out alcoholic into a millionaire.

Og Mandino is the only person who could tell this heartwarming tale of personal triumph--because it is his own true story. And it can profoundly influence your life.

Acres of Diamonds
                    by Claude Drummond

Russell H. Conwell, the founder of Temple University in Philadelphia, was described by the great John Wanamaker as a student, schoolmaster, lawyer, preacher, organizer, thinker and writer, lecturer, educator, diplomat, and leader of men. Conwell was also the founder and pastor of Baptist Temple, one of the largest Protestant churches in America during his day and time. He also founded two hospitals in the City of Brotherly Love.

His famous Acres of Diamonds speech helped countless individuals to come into the knowledge of the meaning of true wealth and how to attain it without getting sidetracked by selfishness and greed.

The Magic of Believing
                    by Claude M. Bristol

Millions of success-oriented Americans have drawn on the no-nonsense techniques described in The Magic of Believing to achieve all their long- and short-term goals. Times may have changed, but ambitions have not, and Claude Bristol's tough-minded, hard-hitting message remains as fresh and focused as it was 50 years ago.

The late Claude M. Bristol was a lawyer, lecturer, investment banker, and foreign correspondent. He was also a coauthor of the long-time bestseller, TNT: The Power Within.

As a Man Thinketh
                    by James Allen

For more than a century, As a Man Thinketh has been one of the world’s bestselling and most widely loved inspirational works. This special volume features a revised and updated edition of this immensely powerful meditation and—as an added bonus—an up-to-date version of the author’s first book, From Poverty to Power.

Born in Leicester, England in 1864, James Allen wrote nineteen popular works of inspiration before his death in 1912. From Poverty to Power was his first book, followed by As a Man Thinketh, his best-known work.

Self-Reliance and Other Essays
                    by Ralph Waldo Emerson

The six essays and one address in this volume outline the great transcendentalist’s moral idealism as well as hinting at the later skepticism that colored his thought. In addition to the celebrated title essay, the others included here are "History," "Friendship," "The Over-Soul," "The Poet" and "Experience," plus the well-known and frequently read Harvard Divinity School Address.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (May 25, 1803 – April 27, 1882) was an American essayist, philosopher, poet, and leader of the Transcendentalist movement in the early 19th century. His teachings directly influenced the growing New Thought movement of the mid 1800s.

The Greatest Thing in the World
                    by Henry Drummond

I was staying with a party of friends in a country house during my visit to England in 1884. On Sunday evening as we sat around the fire, they asked me to read and expound some portion of Scripture. Being tired after the services of the day, I told them to ask Henry Drummond, who was one of the party. After some urging he drew a small Testament from his hip pocket, opened it at the 13th chapter of I Corinthians, and began to speak on the subject of Love. It seemed to me that I had never heard anything so beautiful, and I determined not to rest until I brought Henry Drummond to Northfield to deliver that address. Since then I have requested the principals of my schools to have it read before the students every year. The one great need in our Christian life is love, more love to God and to each other. Would that we could all move into that Love chapter, and live there.

Henry Drummond was one of the first writers to try to reconcile religion and science. His evangelical lectures drew standing-room-only crowds in the biggest and smallest venues throughout the world. His messages are as inspiring today as they were when he first delivered them. This omnibus edition contains all of his most important works. Here are dozens of his lectures, papers, addresses and books. Included are Stones Rolled Away and Other Addresses.

I Dreamed a Dream
                    by Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle’s life is an amazing story proving so much to so many. I am touched every time I hear her voice, remembering her first appearance on stage.
